Unite for Action: Queensland Elder Abuse Prevention Forum 2025

ADA Australia in partnership with the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Queensland Working Group is hosting this important event for professionals responding to elder abuse. Professionals across a range of services including police, health, advocacy, government and community will come together to discuss collaboration at a local level for better outcomes in tackling the issue of elder abuse.

CEO Cybele Koening, CEO, Caxton Legal Centre will provide the keynote address outlining where we are in the current landscape of dealing with and preventing elder abuse, leading into a panel discussion about collaboration in place-based service delivery including:

  • the multi-dimensional aspects of elder abuse
  • current service system fragmentation
  • the importance of place-based collaboration for better outcomes
  • highlights of successful local partnerships
  • possible collaborative opportunities in rural, regional and remote areas.
