October 2026 is the 66th year of Queensland Seniors Month
Queensland Seniors Month is just around the corner, bringing communities together to Connect and Celebrate throughout October.
The month begins on the United Nations International Day of Older Persons on 1 October and includes Grandparents Day on 25 October 2026, highlighting the valuable contributions older Queenslanders make to our families, communities and the state.
Queensland Seniors Month promotes the importance of supporting older people to live active, healthy and fulfilling lives while remaining connected, valued and included in their communities. It is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones and enjoy the many activities taking place across Queensland.
There is something for everyone, with hundreds of events including fitness classes, art and craft workshops, technology sessions, social gatherings, concerts, excursions, expos and much more. People of all ages are encouraged to join in and celebrate alongside older Queenslanders.

Qld Government Seniors Expos
Seniors expos are a great way to meet face-to-face with government representatives and local organisations to find out about the services and supports for older people in your community.
Expos are seated information sessions with presentations from government agencies and generally held from 9am to 12pm, however individual event times are provided closer to the time.
Due to venue capacity restrictions, bookings are essential for seniors expos.
