Surfers Paradise will go off with a bang this New Year’s Eve, as the renowned holiday playground gets set to host a colourful carnival of rides and attractions for all ages across five days in the lead up to 2018. The fun-filled New Year’s Carnival will culminate in three spectacular fireworks displays on December 31, lighting up the skies over the ocean to bring in the New Year. An initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance, the New Year’s Carnival will see thousands of families and visitors converge at the iconic foreshore.
From 3pm to 9pm, the foreshore will become a kaleidoscope of frivolity with thrilling rides and fun activities for children of all ages, including bungee trampolines, a climbing wall and interactive play zone, as the precinct hosts the biggest party in town to farewell 2017 in show-stopping style. The carnival’s awe-inspiring fireworks finale on New Year’s Eve is renowned as one of Queensland’s best displays of cutting-edge pyrotechnic magic, with three separate shows igniting the beach and riverside precinct in celebration for both families and late-night revellers to enjoy.
Bring your party hats and picnic blankets and rejoice with family and loved ones to experience an unforgettable evening of colour, light and sound as the clock ticks over into a brand-new year. Young families wanting to share the momentous occasion with their little ones at an earlier time slot can secure a vantage point on the golden sands of Surfers Paradise Beach for the first fireworks show at 8pm, with another offshore extravaganza lighting up the seas on the stroke of midnight.
The celebration extends throughout the precinct, with Surfers Paradise Riverside hosting a choreographed fireworks display over Nerang River at 10pm.
With three different fireworks displays, carnival rides, and a wide range of restaurants and attractions throughout the precinct, there is something to delight every member of the family in Surfers Paradise this New Year’s Eve.
