Drawing has a rich history in Australia. The artform is well represented in the City of Townsville Art Collection and for the first time in the history of the Collection, it will be revealed in a thematically linked exhibition. One of earliest works is an 1865 drawing by early Townsville settler Mark Watt Reid which reinforces the strong history of art practice within Townsville. Themes relating to exploration and settlement, environment and place, people and culture ably demonstrate the diversity and richness of this artform from the Collection. Cost: FREE.
