Sunshine Coast ACC
The Sunshine Coast ACC (SCACC) is a non profit, community based organisation funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Transport and Regional Services and is managed by a committee made up of business leaders and representatives from the key economic development and community sectors in the region. Our core business is to forge the links that will bring the ideas and opportunities that benefit our communities to fruition. The primary areas of activity for the organisation are: Supporting a planned and cooperative approach to regional development and continue to foster groups and agencies that work towards a regional focus. Stay informed on regional issues and take account of the regional plans and strategies of other major groups, bodies and organisations within the region Relationship building and fostering partnerships. Promoting funding opportunities from government agencies to support development in the Sunshine Coast Region and assistance in the achievement of funding for worthwhile projects Providing feedback to the Australian Government on issues integral to the Sunshine Coast region. A commitment to social development activities and promoting assistance to disadvantaged sectors of the Sunshine Coast community. Encourage the building of community skills and capacity. Seek out opportunities for partnership funding that will improve regional services, employment, infrastructure, communication, education & training. Encourage the growth of economic enterprise and business on the Sunshine Coast through a continued commitment to the Small Business Answers Program. Address the immediate economic, social and environmental issues surrounding the closure of the Moreton Sugar Mill by continued commitment to the Sugar Industry Reform Program. Providing informed advice on the roles and responsibilities and activities of the SCACC to all stakeholders.
