School Based Youth Health Program – Community Family Health

High Schools are provided with a youth health nurse. The youth health nurse provides confidential health consultations for students, parents and school staff, and refer clients to other health and welfare professionals as appropriate; supports the school’s health and physical education program development; supports planning and implementation of health promotion strategies; facilitates community development; supports students and staff on a range of health issues relevant to young people, including facilitating teacher in-service health programs; provides advice and information about health education resources including relevant Queensland Health programs.
