The Commonwealth Ombudsman investigates complaints about the way Commonwealth departments and authorities (agencies) have handled Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. You can complain to the Ombudsman about problems such as: – an agency not giving you some or all of the documents you requested; – payment of application fees or other charges associated with your FOI request; – the amount of the charges; – delays in responding to your request; – delays in making a decision; or – an agency not giving adequate reasons for a decision.
