Ombudsman Cwealth – Australian Federal Police
The Commonwealth Ombudsman is an independent person appointed under the Ombudsman Act. The Ombudsman investigates complaints about the actions and decisions of Commonwealth departments and authorities (agencies) to see if they are unjust, unlawful, discriminatory or wrong in all the circumstances. You can make a complaint about the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to the Commonwealth Ombudsman or directly to the AFP. The Commonwealth Ombudsman and the AFP Internal Investigations have joint responsibility for handling complaints about the AFP. You can complain about the conduct or actions of individual AFP members; or the policies, practices or procedures of the AFP as an agency. If a person does not speak English very well, the Ombudsman Office will arrange for an interpreter.
