Ipswich Community Aid provides several services for seniors. The Community Visitors Scheme provides a volunteer visiting service to residents of aged care facilities. The Safe and Confident Living for Older People Program provides information and support to enhance the feeling of safety and self-esteem of older people in their homes. The Home Visiting and Support Service provides services for frail older people and younger people with disabilities with the installation of Safe-t-Net safety monitors, home visits by volunteers and the provision of transport to medical and health related appointments to HACC clients and their carers residing in rural areas. The Assisted Shopper Program provides volunteers to assist physically impaired people with their shopping needs. The Social Participation Project addresses social isolation of older people by providing funding for community groups to implement projects that encourage older people to participate in their community. ICA Mobility Plus is a service which provides sales, service and hire for most types of mobility equipment. This includes powered scooters, wheelchairs, walkers and most bathroom, bedroom and household aids. CommunICA is a telephone support program which provides communication, support & friendship (but not counselling) to clients who are socially isolated. Calls are made by volunteers from I.C.A.
