The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander: population of Brisbane is at the heart of our organisation. Community members and concerned general practitioners started our service as a small volunteer group in the early 1970s, providing primary health care to the Indigenous community around Spring Hill.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (Qld) LTD, is a non-profit, community based organisation contracted by the Commonwealth Attorney Generals? Department (AGD) to provide criminal, civil and family law services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and their families in Queensland.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit:was established at the University of Queensland in 1984. Its objective is to become a centre of excellence and expert opinion on teaching, research and consultation in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to maintain a committed system of personal and academic support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at the University of Queensland.
