DESCRIPTION:8 – 9 February 2019 – \n  \n  \nThe iconic Surfers Paradise precinct is set to be transformed into a sea-inspired sandscape as the annual Sand Safari Arts Festival creates a sandstorm of creativity from Friday\, February 8 to Sunday\, February 24 2019. \n  \nAn initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance (SPA)\, the biggest sand-and-sea-inspired event in the Asia-Pacific region will spread throughout the Gold Coast with large-scale sand sculptures and community arts and crafts zones appearing in libraries\, shopping centres and public places for Sand Trail from 19 January to 24 February. \n  \nThe event will host the Australian Sand Sculpturing Championships from February 8 to 10 where families will have the chance to watch on as 10 International and Australian sculptors each get to work on 10-tonne of sand to create a life-sized masterpiece to the theme Treasures of the Sea. \n  \nFor the first time in the competition’s history\, entrants will work in pairs to collaborate on a design to develop a story between their two individual sculptures. \n  \nGuests at this year’s event will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Walk-Through Sculpture created from 60-tonnes of sand.
