Join bird lovers from around the globe in Australia’s longest running birding program – the Fortieth Annual O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat Bird Week. From November 5 to 11, 2017 birders will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of Australia’s most well-known bird researchers, authors and photographers as they spot over 200 species of the 230 varieties residing in their World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park – which is home to Australia’s largest collection of sub-tropical birds.
The seven day event combines insightful live presentations from Australia’s most reputable bird enthusiasts plus guided bird tours throughout O’Reilly’s World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, nearby Kerry Valley and Stradbroke Island.
Naturalists will also get the opportunity to see species such as the rare Alberts Lyrebird, not found anywhere else on earth. Other sought after birds include the Paradise Rifle, Rufous Scrubbird and Regent Bowerbird.
The diverse program will appeal to all levels of interest in birding, with three or seven day package options available.
Please note, registration fees do apply and the Bird Week program schedule and guest speakers are subject to change.
