Clean-up for the Hatchlings – Sunshine Coast

3 February @ 6:00 am - 10:00 am AEST

- Free

Time: Beach clean-up 6:15 – 7:30am; Free BBQ, debris sorting and weighing 8:00 – 10:00am

This is a free event run by Council’s TurtleCare Program in partnership with ReefCheck Australia and Sealife Mooloolaba inspiring the whole community to come together to help clean up Sunshine Coast beaches in preparation for hatchling turtles to emerge from nests across the coast.

The beach clean-up will target small hard plastics which impacts hatchling size turtles, but all waste will be collected and will take place at various beaches across the coast. The clean up is sponsored by Unity Water.

Following the beach clean-up, community and turtle volunteers meet at La Balsa Park to weigh and sort debris, listen to guest speakers, enjoy a free BBQ and participate in a prize draw.

A single use plastic free event – Bookings Essential. Cost: $ FREE
